Build a travel bin. Don’t spend all your time searching through your home for all the adapters, toiletries, pillows, etc. Buy a storage bin to help organize everything that is related to travel. A container that you can keep under your bed can keep thing stored away but ready to be take out for your next trip.
Register your trip with the US State Department. Doing so will give them a way to contact you or your family in the event of an emergency. The State Department provides this service free of charge to American citizens who are traveling to foreign soil, so it doesn’t make sense not to take advantage of it.
